Verde Valley School

Sedona, Arizona | High School, 9-12, Co-ed | Founded in 1948

Description

Verde Valley School is a co-educational boarding and day school for students in grades 9-12. Located under the rim of the Colorado Plateau at an elevation of 4,500 feet, Sadona is blessed with four mild seasons, plenty of sunshine and clean air. The red rock valley campus is surrounded on three sides by national forest land and offers beautiful surroundings for year-round outdoor activities. Verde Valley is apart of the International Baccalaureate program, but with a twist. Which means you will earn your IB but with real, hands on experience outdoors. Verde Valley students participate each year in Project Period, where students spend the last week of school engaged in arts, service, and outdoor projects meaning to inspire and challenge students to give back to the community. Verde Valley utilizes the time between Thanksgiving break and Winter break and just after field trips – is now a highly anticipated time of collaborative, throw-the-regular-schedule-out-the-window, kinesthetic learning designed to support off-campus trips and large-scale projects. Projects are unique and varied, reflecting the talents and interests of teachers and their students.
